I'm still here
Hi guys, sorry I'm so late on this one...I'm still working on Michael's moly, but I'll be posting it to Lynne early next week. I've added some angry little spiders to the Bump In The Night theme. Little bumps in the night count too, right? Lynne, thanks for your patience with me...it's coming your way soon!

Guilty!
My entry in Steph's Moly is finally finished! Thanks for letting me
explore my guilty pleasures and art crimes! They are as follows:
Guilty pleasure: My love for the simpsons. I have seen every episode
since it has started and I have all the dvd's so far that have been released
I still never miss an episode. My other guilty pleasure is Coffee. I consider myself to
be a coffee snob. And my art crime is my use of gold pen.
Enjoy the images:

flying carpet..moly 38

Mr. Moly goes to the park...and other stories.
I'm finally finished my entry to Yvonne's book, so Moly and I decided to celebrate by doing some touristy sight-seeing around town. We ended up at a local park/zoo, where Mr. Moly was pretty apprehensive about this odd mini-cow in the llama pen. He's ready to move on with his travels and hang out with Lynne. See ya, Moly!
Yvonne's theme was easy to work with. I continued on with her nostalgic story theme, and threw in a retro toy, too, to match her Big Wheel. Hope you like it!
ps. I also included a secret message in the back pocket, Yvonne. You can check it out when it comes back to you!

Not as fun as a lobster bib...but still fun.
I found us a new toy, this little chat box on the sidebar here, so we can have a quick way to keep in touch. Like, say, if I ever finish my current moly and post it to Lynne, I can let her know (heh heh...No, really, I'll be done soon). What do you think? Is everyone ok with it?

Still working away here...
I haven't had a lot of moly-time lately, and am definitely living in fear of speedy Yvonne sending me another book while I'm still working on these two. But no worries, I've got some sketches laid down and it should be off to Lynne soon. ps. Lynne, I think you'll love this theme...it's really, really cool. Someone commented on my Flickr photo of it, that it had this great storybook quality to it, and I totally agree. Really fun.
Safe and sound

Another one!
Check out what I found in the mailbox today!
...it's Michael's moly and a surprise for me: handmade, signed art from Yvonne! So cool, Yvonne, thanks -- I love it!
Michael's "Bump in the Night" book is too long for my little scanner...I'll have to figure out how to piece everything together so you can see the full greatness of it (anyone know how to do that?). I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but on the last page Yvonne left me some creepy spider web type things to work from...I already have some ideas for it...
So now I have two molys on the go. I've been working on Yvonne's (I'll post pictures soon) and now I'll be thinking of scary things for Michael's, just in time for Halloween...nice timing!

HOLY MOLY!!!
I finally finished Yoda's Moly! I hope everyone likes it, especially Yoda. I dont know if she was going for a religon theme but I was inspired by her's so I stuck with that. I think I got over zealous with 3 pages and my gold pen... I think its my new guilty pleasure. Enjoy the pics below it will be off to Yvonne by the end of the week.

Hey, look what I got today...
Yvonne's moly came to visit and it is very cool to finally see it in person! Yvonne, I love the theme -- and it's open to so many different interpretations. I already have so many good ideas for it...the only problem is, now I have to narrow it down to one.
Sorry for the picture-heavy post, I got way too excited, especially when I found the secret note inside. It's not every day you get a lobster bib in the mail.
I think this moly and I will have a lot of fun. We'll keep you posted.

Almost ready!
My entry is just about done...my theme is Guilty Pleasures and/or Crimes of Art. I was trying to keep it open-ended, so you can interpret it however loosely you want. And I wanted an excuse to draw some cake, my personal guilty pleasure. :)
In the next couple days, it will be on its way to you, Lynne!

NEW HEADER!!!
I quickly designed a new header for us that included our artwork. Hopefully everyone likes it. If one of you would like to make a better one feel free to do so and replace the current one. How is everyone doing on theirs?
Hooked up!
Hi Gang. Welcome to moly_x!
The moly_x_38 blog is now linked at the bottom of the moly_x flickr site. I have added a few features to the blog to make it consistent with the other blogs. I added a list of "Beloved Links" which I hope y'all will add to. I added "THE NETWORK" so y'all can get from on blog to the next with relative ease. That's it.
Have fun!

Bump in the Night
My entry into the moly exchange this is my journal...I'll upload a finished one soon with the bird and eye done.
WELCOME!!!
This group, founded by Michael Nightmare (USA), is an extension of the Moleskine Exchange. This blog will follow the adventure of a group of artists around the world, in a Japanese fold Moleskine sketchbook exchange.
Each artist will set off with a small Japanese (accordian) folded Moleskine. Creating a drawing, collage, or painting, then send on to the next artist. Each artist will draw on a couple of spreads (3-4 pages) then send it on to the next artist. When the artists book is filled, it will be returned to the owner with images created by artist around the world. Each artist has a month to make an entry. The outcome will be a pleasant and surprising adventure, as artists are encouraged to interact and merge their art with others.
The concept:
1. The artists start with the Japanese fold Moleskine - Name, address, email address written in book.
2. Each artist gets 1 month to make a sketchbook entry, and mail it to the next person. The order is listed to the right.
3. Each artist will do 3-4 pages each round.
4. Artists are encouraged to interact with other images in the book. Please be respectful.
5. When the book is full, when one side of the unfolded book is filled, the book will be sent back to its original owner. That artist may continue by buying a new book and sending it to the next person.
6. If a person decides not to continue, she will simply keep her book when it comes back to her. She should email all of the participants to say she is not going to continue. We will decide, then, if we want to find a new person.
7. Please communicate regularly via email. Let each person know that you have received/sent the book. The goal is to have a dialogue. Any comments and questions are welcome.
